Editorial Policy

BariatricRevision.mx publishes educational content on revisional bariatric surgery, weight regain, and metabolic surgery. This policy describes how we source, write, review, and update that content.

Purpose

Our goal is to help patients understand options after a previous bariatric procedure. We do not provide medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations. All content is informational.

Sourcing standards

  • Primary sources include peer-reviewed literature, ASMBS and IFSO position statements, and published outcomes data from the Obesity Control Center (OCC).
  • Accreditation references include JCI, SRC, and GHA.
  • Where statistics are cited, the underlying source is linked on Sources & Verification.

Writing standards

  • Plain language with conservative claims.
  • No outcome guarantees, no diagnosis, no treatment recommendations.
  • Risks and limitations are stated alongside potential benefits.
  • Patient stories are educational only and never presented as expected results.

Medical review

Substantive clinical pages are reviewed by an experienced bariatric surgeon. See Medical Review Policy for details on the review process and reviewer credentials.

Updates and corrections

Pages display a "Last reviewed" date. We update content when underlying evidence, guidelines, or accreditation status meaningfully change. Corrections are made promptly when errors are identified.

Independence and disclosure

BariatricRevision.mx is part of the OCC / Ariel Center educational network. Content describes programs available through that network. Where third-party services (e.g., financing) are mentioned, no endorsement of specific terms is implied.
